Our mission 

Our mission is simple: to contribute to a better future for animals.

We believe every animal deserves to be treated with care and respect, whether it is a rescued animal that cannot return to the wild, an animal saved from illegal trade or mistreatment, or a surplus animal from a zoological institution in need of a permanent home. Through the Brussels Animal Park, we aim to provide animals in need with a safe and permanent place to call home.

But protecting animals goes beyond providing them with a home. Through the Seynaeve Zoological Institute, we aim to support the wider zoological and conservation community by sharing knowledge, encouraging research and education, creating opportunities for emerging talent, and connecting people and organisations who work with and care about wildlife.

Together, these initiatives reflect our broader mission: to contribute to animal welfare, conservation and the development of a strong, knowledgeable and engaged zoological community.
